Abstract

While the personal information in the realm of Big Data is considered the most valuable resource of the twenty-first century, the ‘new oil’, [2] its analytics, i.e., Big Data Analytics can be described as the ‘new engine’ for economic and social value creation. At the same time, the threat of loss of privacy of the personal data looms large. Enterprises or other organizations keen to harness the power of Big Data with its vast potential are also cautious and hence recognizing their responsibility to protect the privacy of personal data collected and analyzed in the Big Data framework.
