With the Coolant Control Hub (CCH), Hella is launching a subsystem for thermal management in electric vehicles. It is based on a modular principle and connects the coolant and refrigerant circuits of the battery, interior, power electronics and electric motor. This is said to result in a considerable reduction in components, which in turn reduces logistics and overall costs. Centralization also leads to better distribution of thermal energy in the vehicle. A seven-way valve ensures optimum temperatures for the aforementioned systems at all times of the year and enables efficient heat recovery. The specific scale after optimization depends on the customer's architecture and layout. For example, CCH combines multi-way valves, actuators, distribution systems, electronic circulation pumps, expansion tanks and heat exchangers as well as sensors in one product.
