Deep learning—designing models and learning algorithms for deep neural networks—has achieved great success in various areas of artificial intelligence. Owing to the advances in theory and learning algorithms, the availability of big training data, and GPU computing, deep learning has yielded superior performance in many applications of pattern recognition and artificial intelligence.
