Abstract

This chapter studies material flow management concepts and systems. The focus is on the development of world-class SCN planning and control strategies and systems. We also examine data sharing technologies, and software industry solutions. Because SCs may involve several manufacturing, distribution, and retailing companies, the standards, approaches, and systems available to facilitate collaboration between SC partners are given particular attention.
