To enable the goal-oriented analysis of a process using complexity metrics as e.g. provided by the Structural Measurement System, a framework is necessary to select the metrics and to guide their application. The solution presented here is based on the GQM approach and therefore called Structural Goal Question Metric framework (S-GQM). However, the framework is not meant as the
only
means of systematically applying metrics to a process analysis. Nevertheless, the framework is designed to help address the most common elements of a process analysis, as shown in the requirements outlined in chapter 3.
