Abstract

This chapter reviews the political and policy record of the early-to-mid Trump presidency, making the case that despite some advantages coming in, the record—in terms of both skill and effectiveness at getting things done, plus the results themselves—is less than stellar. By a number of metrics, such as bills passed, promises kept, as well as the evaluation of expert and public opinion, his time in office has been underwhelming.
