The planning of a cochlear implantation requires careful segmentation of various structures within the middle and inner ear. Due to usability issues, many planning tools have not been integrated in the daily clinical routine yet. We propose an easy-to-use and intuitive wizard-based approach for the segmentation of structures of the ear. The wizard guides the user through the segmentation process, translating image processing into medical terminology. Semiautomatic corrections integrate the users medical expertise into the process so far. We have evaluated the wizard with a small user study including questionnaires and compared the segmentation result among different users.
