Abstract

This chapter delves into the innovative use of DCT combined cepstrum for diagnosing arteriovenous fistula (AVF) condition through the analysis of acoustic signals emitted by blood flow. The study compares the effectiveness of various artificial intelligence techniques, highlighting the superior performance of the DCT approach over traditional FFT methods. The research involves recording and analyzing acoustic signals from patients undergoing hemodialysis, with a focus on extracting features that accurately reflect the condition of the fistula. The authors demonstrate that the DCT combined cepstrum method achieves a high accuracy of 90% in classifying AVF condition, offering a promising advancement in non-invasive medical diagnostics. The chapter also discusses the challenges and future directions in optimizing this method for continuous assessment of fistula state.
