The Japanese tire manufacturer Bridgestone will appear at the 2020 CES, where it will present its airless tire concepts. "CES presents Bridgestone with a unique opportunity to demonstrate how we are transforming to become the most trusted partner for mobility solutions," said TJ Higgins, Vice President, Senior Officer, and Global Chief Strategic Officer at Bridgestone.
The one-piece airless tire from Bridgestone combines the tread and wheel into one durable, high-strength structure. One of the advantages is the lower level of maintenance required due to the elimination of tire pressure checks and flat tires. Bridgestone will present the airless, elastic tire and wheel solution for a lunar rover currently being developed for an international space mission.
