Abstract
The previous chapter introduced the concept of infrastructure as code (IaC) as well as briefly describing the difference between implicit and declarative IaC models. The chapter also stepped through the process of deploying the example SQL Hyperscale environment using Azure PowerShell, as well as providing a closer look at some of the commands themselves. In this chapter, we are going to replicate the same process we used in the previous chapter, deploying an identical SQL Hyperscale environment that was defined in Chapter 4, except we’ll be using shell script (Bash specifically) and the Azure CLI instead of Azure PowerShell. We will break down the important Azure CLI commands required to deploy the environment as well as provide a complete Bash deployment script you can use for reference.
