Anschließend geht es um den Nachweis der Relevanz der Soziologie für die Konsumentenforschung anhand klassischer Theoreme der Soziologie. Der letzte Abschnitt geht sehr verknappt auf den aktuellen regionalspezifischen Stand der Konsumsoziologie ein.
