The first issue of this journal was the “Special Memorial Issue on Donald Super”. This was a deliberate choice of the editorial board because the work of Donald Super clearly illustrated the aims and scope of the journal. The life-long career development and life-role idea were at the heart of Super’s theory and research. This was also central to the concerns of those who set up the journal.
