Zusammenfassung

Das einleitende Kapitel stellte den Hintergrund meiner Forschung dar, führte das Hongqiao-Projekt ein und wies auf seine Bedeutung und wahrscheinliche Auswirkung auf die regionale Entwicklung im westlichen Shanghai und darüber hinaus im Jangtse-Delta (YRD) hin. Der Großteil dieses Kapitels wurde von einer einleitenden Diskussion der theoretischen Fragen eingenommen, die die drei Hauptstränge umgeben, die dieses Buch zusammenhalten: unternehmerischer Urbanismus und Megastadtprojekte, Akkumulation durch Enteignung und ihre Relevanz für Hongqiao und chinesische städtische Wachstumskoalitionen und ihre Manifestation in Hongqiao. Es wurde hier vorgeschlagen, dass Projekte der Größe und Art von Hongqiao durch das Zusammenbringen von landbasierten städtischen Wachstumskoalitionen realisiert werden können.
