BMW has unveiled a new electric scooter, the CE 04. The 120-km/h e-scooter is available in two performance levels and offers a range of up to 130 km.

The BMW CE 04 is the series version of the Definition CE 04, which was introduced in 2020. The main frame of the e-scooter consists of a tubular steel construction; a telescopic fork with a 35 mm dip tube diameter is at work at the front, and a single-sided swingarm at the rear. Braking is provided by a double-disc brake at the front and a single-disc system at the rear, ABS is standard. The lighting is all LED, and the Headlight Pro adaptive cornering light can be ordered as an option, among other things. A 10.25" TFT color display integrates map navigation and connectivity functions.

The powertrain is mounted in the area between the battery and rear wheel. The maximum output of the permanently excited electric motor is 31 kW (42 PS), while the continuous output is 15 kW (20 PS). The CE 04 is also available in a reduced-power version of the L3e-A1 vehicle class with a maximum of 23 kW (31 PS) and 11 kW (15 PS) continuous output. Both models have a maximum speed of 120 km/h. Three driving modes "Eco", "Rain" and "Road" are included as standard, as well as traction control to ensure that the tires in 120/70 R15 67H at the front and 160/60 R15 56H at the rear deliver power safely to the road. A traction control system and the additional "Dynamic" driving mode are also available as options.

BMW CE 04 also suitable for fast charging

The 60.6-Ah (8.9 kWh) battery is said to enable a range of around 100 (L3e-A1) or 130 km. The charging time of the lithium-ion battery is 4 h and 20 min. With a fast charger with up to 6.9 kW power (2.3 kW as standard), the charging time is reduced to 1 h and 40 min when the battery is completely empty.
