Giant panda (Ailuropoda melanoleuca) is a national treasure of China; to protect this iconic species, the Chinese government established 67 nature reserves within the last 50 years, covering 66.8 % of giant pandas and 53.8 % of its habitats (State Council Information Office of China 2015). This is a remarkable achievement in species protection, because it is rare for a country to establish such large number of nature reserves for the protection of only one species. …
