8. Globale Angleichung von Projektstrukturen und die Rolle der institutionellen Effekte

Zusammenfassung

In diesem Kapitel geht es um die Frage, was der Projektarbeit zu ihrem ‚Siegeszug‘ durch die Wirtschafts- und Organisationswelt verhalf. Speziell geht es dabei um Effekte, die sich anschaulich mit dem soziologischen Neo-Institutionalismus fassen lassen – einem Theorie- und Forschungsprogramm, das auf Angleichungs- und Verbreitungsdynamiken abstellt und darüber hinaus versucht, den Erwartungen rund um die Institutionalisierung neuer Arbeitsstrukturen auf den Grund zu gehen. In einem ersten Schritt werden instrumentelle und institutionelle Annahmen zur Projektarbeit voneinander abgegrenzt. Im Weiteren wird geklärt, was unter einer Institutionalisierung der Projektarbeit zu verstehen ist. Es folgen Ausführungen dazu, wie die Projektarbeit auch mit bestimmten Legitimationserwartungen verbunden wird – denn die Form des Arbeitens kann auch zur Rechtfertigung gegenüber bestimmten Bedarfs- bzw. Anspruchsgruppen einer Organisation beitragen. Mit dem Konzept des Isomorphismus wird der hohe Verbreitungsgrad von Projekten theoretisch hergeleitet. Zuletzt soll es darum gehen, wie PraktikerInnen mit den Zwängen und Pflichten im Projektmanagement möglichst klug und situationsgerecht umgehen können.
