Zusammenfassung

Schon seit dem Jahr 1995 gibt es eine Weiterentwicklung des Internet-Protokolls der Version 4 (IPv4). Das Internet Protocol in Version 6 (IPv6) wurde von der Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) in dem RFC 1883 [DH95] standardisiert und in den folgenden Jahren immer weiter verbessert und ergänzt [DH98, ASNN07, Kri09, AB10, ACJR11, KWK+12, ECW13, Gon13]. Heute wird IPv6 von allen modernen Betriebssystemen neben IPv4 unterstützt.
