The 11th European Symposium on Martensitic Transformations (ESOMAT 2018) took place in Metz, France. Held from August 27–31, 2018, the conference was attended by 187 researchers and academics. This symposium originated in 1989, in Bochum, Germany as the European Conference on Martensitic Transformation in Science and Technology. The ESOMAT conference series were held in Aussois, France in 1991; Barcelona, Spain in 1994; Enschede, the Netherlands in 1997; Como, Italy in 2000; Cirencester, UK in 2003; Bochum, Germany in 2006; Prague, Czech Republic in 2009; St Petersburg, Russia 2012; and Antwerp, Belgium in 2015. …
