Zusammenfassung

Krisenmanagement und -kommunikation aus institutioneller Sicht liefert eine Alternative zum vorherrschenden rationalen Managementverständnis. Krisen sind aus dieser Perspektive in erster Linie eine gesellschaftliche Konstruktion. Der Beitrag dekonstruiert den Mythos der Rationalität des Managements, indem er den Fokus auf kulturell-kognitive Erklärungen legt. Krisen entstehen, wenn unterschiedliche institutionelle Logiken im Konflikt stehen. Da Organisationen in kulturellen Anforderungen eingebettet sind, steht ihnen nur eine begrenzte Zahl gesellschaftlich legitimierter Krisenbewältigungsstrategien zur Verfügung.
