Two associations, CFK Valley e.V. and Carbon Composites e.V., are merging. This way, under the name Composites United e.V., the world's largest network for fibre-based multi-material lightweight construction is being created.
With the merger, Composites United comprises approximately 400 members and international representatives in Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, Japan, South Korea, China and India. The new association will be based in Berlin, the previous locations Augsburg and Stade will be retained and will be responsible for the technical management of the association.
The union was decided on 28.02.2019 unanimously and without any dissenting votes at the two general meetings of the members. For historical reasons, the associations previously each focused on different industries. Both partners consider the synergy effects resulting from the merger to be both economically sensible and politically desirable.
