Lithium-ion batteries are subject to cyclic and calendrical ageing, which results in a decrease in the maximum range per charge. If the range is too short, the battery is replaced and thermally recycled. In order to be able to give it a second life, its remaining capacity would have to be determined. To date, this could only be done using a very complex, economically inefficient method. Ferchau has now developed a module test bench for optimizing the measuring and balancing of lithium-ion battery modules. …
