Abstract
This chapter discusses standard protocols related to M2M communication, with reference to ISO’s OSI layer architecture and its modifications required to connect lightweight device architectures to conventional systems on the Internet. This chapter also deals with necessary modifications in Ethernet stack to accommodate IoT device connectivity to networked device. It introduces different application protocols like HTTP, MQTT, and CoAP.
