Melting Features of Electronic Scrap Concentrates

Abstract

Binary constitution diagrams are considered for Fe–Ni, Co–Ni, and Cu–Zn-systems that are typical for the elemental composition of electronic scrap. Chemical compositions are determined for iron-nickel and copper-zinc concentrates obtained during electric scrap processing. Concentrate melting temperature parameters are determined. It is established that for oxidizing melting of bulk electronic scrap and partly copper-zinc concentrate from electronic scrap it is possible to use melting with supply of high-pressure air streams. It is shown that oxidation of iron-nickel concentrate impurities is possible using saltpeter as an oxidizing agent.
