Multiple-dielectric relaxations and excellent microwave absorption properties of LaMnO3+δ powders

Abstract

Two-dimensional lamellar LaMnO3+δ powders comprised of nanoparticles were prepared by a citric acid-assisted sol–gel route. The calcined samples (60 wt%)-paraffin composites exhibit excellent microwave absorption properties. For all of the samples calcined at 700–900 °C in interval of 100 °C for 4 h under atmosphere, effective bandwidth (RL<-10dB) can cover 2–18 GHz at matching thickness of 1–5.5 mm. The optimal reflection loss (RL) of the samples calcined at 900 °C is −24 dB at 8.0 GHz with a thickness of 2 mm. The excellent microwave absorption ability can be rationally attributed to microstructures and multiple-dielectric relaxation behaviors.
