Abstract

The paper presents a novel method for the enhancement in the gain and impedance bandwidth by a silicon dioxide SiO2 substrate of nano spherical dielectric resonator antenna. The results of enhanced gain and impedance are analyzed and compared with the previous research work. Nano spherical dielectric resonator antenna has been designed and simulated using HFSS software. The antenna structure contains spherical dielectric resonators at a frequency of 10.5THz with higher antenna gain and lower return loss. Simulated results show that nano spherical dielectric resonator antenna provides below 2-dB VSWR and upper 3-dB axial ratio. The VSWR is acceptable. The impedance bandwidth of nano spherical dielectric resonator antenna is 43.82%. The proposed nano spherical dielectric resonator antenna provides the gain of 6.5 dB and threturn loss of − 20.52 dB. The proposed nano spherical dielectric resonator antenna can be used in nano rectenna for energy harvesting with compact size.
