These are exciting times for The Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science (JAMS). The landscape of the academic literature in marketing offers an especially hospitable environment for the continued development of a strong academic journal like JAMS. There is unambiguous need for more, stronger academic journals in the marketing discipline. The number of scholars in marketing and the amount of their scholarship are increasing rapidly, especially outside the United States. Marketing practices are changing at an accelerating rate in response to developments in technology and expanding, but ever fragmenting markets. The methods for studying markets, consumers, marketing activities, and marketing phenomenon are also expanding at an increasing rate. JAMS is ready to respond to these changes in the marketing landscape. …
