With the introduction of precision farming, the electrification of agricultural equipment is becoming increasingly important. As part of a joint project between IAV and Maschinenfabrik Bernard Krone, the trailed agricultural mower Krone EasyCut 3201 CV was selected to identify the potentials of electrifying an agricultural tractor-mounted implement. On this implement, a conditioner reversing function and cross conveyor belt were equipped with 48-V prototype drives. Also installed were a 48-V generator driven by the tractor via a power-takeoff shaft and a buffer battery with a view to providing an autonomous power supply. With a focus on cost, inexpensive volume-produced automotive drive components should be selected. However, for reasons of availability, industrial drives have been used. …
