This exhibition catalog is a survey of Willie Cole’s work since 1988. The first extensive survey of his work, the traveling exhibit, Anxious Objects: Willie Cole’s Favorite Brands, began in 2006 at the Montclair Art Museum in New Jersey and will tour the Sheldon Memorial Art Museum in Lincoln, NE, Memorial Art Gallery in Rochester, NY, Birmingham Museum of Art in Alabama, the Frye Art Museum in Seattle, WA, and Stanford University’s Cantor Center for Visual Arts in Palo Alto, CA. It is the Montclair Art Museum’s most ambitious show of a living artist.
