Mass production of electric motors has started at Audi's plant in the Hungarian town of Györ. The first motors will be used in the Audi e-tron. Employees at the site are producing two different electric axle drives for the new electric model. The current production capacity is approximately 400 units a day and the intention is for this to be gradually increased. At present about 100 people are employed in the new area. This figure will grow to more than 130 by the end of 2018. The company built the production facility, which involved an investment of tens of millions of euros, in the space of only a year. To accompany the facility Audi Hungaria has installed three test benches for electric motors which will be used for testing and continuous load operation.
