Shortly after the launch of its EV6 electric crossover passenger car, Kia has now unveiled an all-electric SUV study, the Concept EV9. Like the EV6, it is based on the Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). The E-SUV is 4930 mm long, 2055 mm wide, and 1790 mm high, and has a wheelbase of 3100 mm. Its electric powertrain is said to deliver a driving range of up to 483 km. The fast-charging technology allows the battery to be replenished from 10 to 80 % in 20 to 30 min at 350-kW charging stations. The interior offers a choice of three modes designed to meet different situations and requirements. For example, when the vehicle is stationary, the steering wheel can be folded in to create additional space. During the development process, the automobile manufacturer placed great emphasis on sustainability. For that reason, recycled fishnets have been used for the flooring material, while the seating fabric is made from recycled plastic bottles and natural wool fibers. In addition, no animal leather was used throughout the interior.
