The Herbringhausen Dam is a masonry dam that was built based on the Intze principle. It has provided people living in Wuppertal with drinking water since 1902. Listed as a historic monument, the drinking water dam has undergone multiple rehabilitation projects since commissioning, mostly recently with the addition of a geomembrane sealing on the upstream face (2000–2005) and with a combination of work to rehabilitate the masonry and the use of shotcrete on the downstream face (2015–2017). …
