Abstract

Reinforcing steel weldability criteria are presented for ferroconcrete structures. Features of resistance spot welding and resistance butt welding are reflected. The effect of different alloy steel compositions and corresponding carbon equivalent values on the tendency to form cold cracks taking account of breaking stress intensity under the action of hydrogen is demonstrated. Thermokinetic analysis is provided for vanadium-containing steel austenite transformation within a heat-affected zone. It is demonstrated that vanadium reduces steel tendency towards loss of strength during welding.
