Abstract

The purpose of the ship monitoring system based on mobile public network is to improve the safety of ship navigation, and provide guidance and help for the daily management and safety rescue of ships. The system integrates ship dynamic and video monitoring, uses CDMA1X wireless communication technology to transmit GPS dynamic positioning information, and uses multi-channel CDMA1X channel bundling to expand bandwidth technology to transmit ship video information, which not only improves the speed and quality of wireless transmission, but also ensures a lower implementation cost. This paper introduces the structure of the system and the function realization of each part in detail. The actual test on ro-ro passenger ship of Yantai Dalian line in Bohai Bay indicate that: The actual bandwidth of single channel CDMA1X is about 40K, and the image transmission can reach 5 frames per second; the binding bandwidth of four channels CDMA1X is about 150–200k, and the image transmission can reach more than 15–20 frames per second, with good continuity, which fully meets the actual needs of ship monitoring.
