Monte-Carlo method is applied to simulate the intensities and degrees of polarization in the twilight sky after the eruption of the El Chichon volcano. The results coincide well with the observations. It is found that multiple scattering played an important role in characterizing the intensity and polarization of the twilight sky after the volcanic eruption.
