In particular, the fear of losing personal mobility, range anxiety and the faltering development of the charging infrastructure are serious obstacles on the way to a complete electrification of the transport sector. Richie Frost, CEO of the British company Sprint Power Technology, comments on current developments in the field of electromobility and infrastructure.
Richie Frost (born 1984) started his career as a technician at Viper Motorsport in 2001. During his employment he progressed into design and studied at Northampton University, where he gained a BTEC and HNC in electrical and electronic engineering. Continuing his career in Motorsport, Frost joined Prodrive in 2005, where he headed the design element for the performance electrical department. During this period he also gained a HND and BSC Degree with Honours in Engineering. In 2009 Frost switched to R&D Vehicle Systems, where he worked on a number of low carbon vehicle programs. In 2011 he founded Frost EV Systems and several more companies, taking a leading role in all of them. In 2015 the Frost EV Group was acquired by the Vayon Green Power Group, upon which time he was appointed Technical Director. In 2016 he became Chief Technical Officer of Detroit Electric. In 2018 Frost founded the Sprint Power Technology Ltd and became the companies CEO.
