Abstract

The impact of the transportation sector on pollution and emissions is very high. To solve this issue, manufacturers are shifting from conventional combustion engines to new electric solutions. As a result, the opportunity to redesign vehicle architecture appears. This paper provides a review of driveline topologies of the new generation vehicles, targeting wheel corner modules with in-wheel solutions. To understand the impact of the new solution on the vehicle dynamic properties, we analysed the literature and performed a SWOT analysis.
