Abstract

The reasons for the occurrence of a systematic error in energy pyrometers, due to the effect on the results of a measurement of the distance between the pyrometer and the object, are considered. It is shown that the reason is the nonsynchronous change with distance of the solid angle, at which the entrance lens of the pyrometer objective is visible from points on the surface, and the surface area of the object, the radiation of which falls on the pyrometer receiver. Recommendations are made on how to reduce this error and take it into account.
