Permanent Magnet Brushless motor DC (PMBLDC) motor is rapidly gaining popularity and are widely used in industries such as aerospace, consumer, medical, industries, automation equipment and instrumentation because of their important characteristic like high power density, Torque-inertia ratio, small size, higher efficiency. One main problem in the PMBLDC motor is the torque ripple which causes undesirable acoustic noise and vibration which affects the overall performance of the machine. The proposed work aims at minimization of torque ripple in PMBLDC motor using Genetic Algorithm (GA). By using L-C Filter ripple is minimized and PID Controller is tuned using GA.
