This planet is currently experiencing an era known as the Anthropocene, a term that refers to the overwhelming dominance of humans on the earth. Human activities have altered the planet’s fabric in a manner that certainly has affected the feedback loop that will lead to catastrophic outcomes in the future. In spite of this, it is untrue that the planet would be better off if humans had not dominated as such. There would still be significant dangers in maintaining life on Earth from cosmic forces, given that our planet has already been fractured many times and has started anew since its creation. This is where humans come into play, the best hope of the planet to continue sustaining life and to protect the diversity of its creations going forward. This being the case, it is still improper for as much importance to be placed on a species whose actions have so far been proven to be contrary, mainly contributing to the acceleration of the Earth’s decline. The earth has always been violent, but the current era of the Anthropocene is primarily an era of violated earth as a result of human impact (Mainzer 2022, 104). …
