Our paper addresses value creation (VC) in sharing networks. We propose that the network perspective (Gummesson 2006; Gummesson/Mele 2010; Löbler 2013; Lusch/ Vargo 2014) is beneficial for studying the nature and interactions within the so-called “sharing economy”. For decades, VC has been a key research topic in service research (Ostrom et al. 2010). The notable and valuable work of many researchers notwithstanding, the concept of VC has yet to be precisely defined and well understood (Dixon 1990; Domegan et al. 2011; Grönroos 2011; Grönroos/Voima 2013; Gummerus 2013; Karababa/Kjeldgaard 2014; Wheeler et al. 2003).
