3D heterometallic complex: photocatalytic property and preventive effect on osteoporosis by activating wnt signaling pathway

Abstract

A new 3D structural compound, namely {[Cd2Sr(pdc)3(H2O)3]}n·n(DMF) (1, H2pdc = 1,4-benzenedicarboxylic acid, DMF = N,N′-dimethylformamide), has been produced with the raw materials of Cd(NO3)2·4H2O, Sr(NO3)2 and H2pdc under solvothermal conditions. Under an irradiation of UV light, 1a displayed outstanding photocatalytic effect for the organic dyes degradation of methylene orange (MO), Rhodamine B (RhB) and methylene blue (MB). In the biological section, the preventive effect and mechanism of new compound on osteoporosis was evaluated and explored. The activation of the FoxO/Wnt pathway in the primary osteoblast was firstly measured with real-time RT-PCR. The accumulation of ROS in the primary osteoblast was also determined with Reactive Oxygen Species Assay Kit.
