An Intelligent Control Technique-Based DTC of BLDC Motor Using New Multi-level Inverter

Abstract

This paper proposes an intelligent elephant herding optimization (EHO) methodology for modeling the direct torque control (DTC) of a BLDC motor. The BLDC motor’s DTC has simultaneous control over torque and flux linkages. The parameters of torque and flux control are estimated by the EHO algorithm. The optimal control parameters are used to control and test the EHO to give the correct electromagnetic torque signal. Using the output of the proposed method, the switching table generates the appropriate control pulses for the five-stage cascaded inverter. The inverter output voltage is fed to the BLDC motor. With this control approach, the speed, torque, and stator flux are regulated. In MATLAB / Simulink, the proposed strategy is effectuated and evaluates the output comparison accompanied by the controller of the existing algorithms, for example, the CFA and PSO algorithms.
