Abstract

This paper attempts to estimate the magnitude of impact of cross-subsidy surcharge on the electricity demand in the short-term electricity market (spot market and bilateral market) using panel data techniques for the sample eight states of the country. The outcome of this analysis suggests that change in cross-subsidy surcharge has a more negative impact on electricity demand in spot market compared to bilateral market.
