Anpassungsbedarf an den Klimawandel für Wälder in Österreich – Trends, Baumarten und Waldmanagement

Zusammenfassung

Wälder beeinflussen über den Kohlenstoffkreislauf den globalen Klimawandel. Gleichzeitig werden Wälder durch den Klimawandel beeinflusst durch Veränderungen der Umweltbedingungen, wie Temperatur, Niederschlag, Verdunstung aber auch Kohlenstoffdioxidkonzentration in der Atmosphäre. Da Bäume langlebige Organismen sind, ist die Anpassung an solche Veränderungen besonders wichtig. Hier erläutern wir die Rolle von Baumarten und Provenienzen, Veränderungen des Wasserhaushaltes und Konzepte zur Anpassung des Österreichischen Waldes. Resilienz, Resistenz und Anpassungsfähigkeit werden anhand von typischen Waldbaumaßnahmen bewertet.
