Mercedes-Benz is to become a shareholder in Automotive Cells Company (ACC). Together with Stellantis and TotalEnergies, the company will drive forward the development and production of high-performance battery cells.

Mercedes-Benz is investing in the European battery cell manufacturer Automotive Cells Company (ACC). Together with partners, next-generation battery cells and modules will be developed and produced in Europe. Mercedes-Benz will become an equal shareholder in ACC alongside Stellantis and TotalEnergies and will receive two of six seats on the supervisory board. ACC plans to double the capacity of its European plants as part of the cooperation.

"Through the partnership, we secure supply volumes, leverage economies of scale and can offer superior battery technology to our customers. We are also helping to ensure that Europe remains a center of the automotive industry – even in the age of electromobility", says Ola Källenius, Chairman of the Board of Management of Daimler AG and Mercedes-Benz AG. ACC will supply Mercedes-Benz with high-performance battery cells and modules from its production sites starting in 2025.
