In order to follow the evolution of the computer systems, the specialists in performance evaluation have been forced to develop more and more complex models. In general, the exhibited models are discrete models and use the notions of the queueing theory. It is indeed very natural to associate the resources of a computer system to the servers of the theory, and the software processes to the customers.
