Discussion about computer integrated manufacturing (CIM) for print products requires talking about a fully digital workflow. Traditional methods like cut and paste on a light table are no longer appropriate for CIM for print. This means that the complete process chain must be digital, from the creative systems to the final bound and trimmed brochure. The following steps are involved in a digital process chain for workflow. In all these steps we also discuss the kind of formats that are used as import or as export (where applicable).
