The development of dedicated hybrid engines and the use of alternative energy sources such as hydrogen and synthetic fuels with modified combustion properties are also giving new importance to the charge exchange. Dr. Marco Warth, Global Head of Development for engine systems and components at Mahle, explains what potential lies dormant here.
Dr. Marco Warth (born 1976) studied Mechanical and Process Engineering at ETH Zurich, where he received his Ph. D. in 2005. In 2006 he joined Mahle in Stuttgart as a project manager in the corporate research and advanced engineering department working in the fields of exhaust gas recirculation and thermal management. From 2008 to 2010 he was responsible for all corporate advanced engineering projects in Stuttgart. In 2010 he moved to England to Mahle Powertrain in Northampton. From 2011 he was Engineering Director of Mahle Powertrain Ltd. and responsible for all development activities. From 2014 until April 2021 he was heading up the corporate advanced engineering at Mahle in Stuttgart. Since May 2021 Warth is responsible for the global product development engine systems and components at Mahle.
