Battery technology has made huge leaps forward over the past ten years. In the interview with ATZelectronics, Prof. Achim Kampker explains what progress can be expected with batteries from their composition up to the topic of second life and what remains to be done to drive the automotive sector including the energy transition forward.
Prof. Achim Kampker (born 1976) studied mechanical engineering with a focus on manufacturing technology at RWTH Aachen and is the founder and Head of the Chair of Production Engineering of E-Mobility Components (PEM) at RWTH Aachen University. Kampker co-developed the electromobile Streetscooter in Aachen and is currently engaged in the "Agora Traffic Transition" and the sustainable model city, Humanotop.
