Artificial Intelligence (AI) is deemed the key technology for the development of autonomous driving functions. To ensure safety they must be comprehensively trained, validated and verified. Massive amounts of data are required to achieve this, but the acquisition or generation of these amounts of data is costly and time consuming. In "KI Wissen" (AI knowledge), a project procured by the "VDA-Leitinitiative" (flagship initiative), experts from industry and science are working toward an ecosystem for the integration of knowledge in machine learning systems, with the aim of reducing cost and improving functional performance. …
